The simulation of complex systems, such as a vehicle air conditioning system, can be simulated on different levels.
The Dymola simulation tool, which has now been embedded in the CATIA 3DS environment, offers various commercially available libraries that can be used to simulate thermal processes and components, right down to their impact on the thermal comfort of vehicle occupants.
In addition to the Human Comfort Library, we also use the Air Conditioning Library from Modelon.
Advantage #01
Consideration of the entire thermal management incl. Refrigeration circuit and cabin comfort
Advantage #02
Focus on efficient system design for all operating conditions, e.g. annual energy consumption
Advantage #03
Quantify the cost of meeting edge cases.
Marc Graaf, founder and owner of SynErgy Thermal Management GmbH, studied mechanical engineering with a specialization in thermal engineering at RWTH Aachen University.
After more than 25 years of professional experience in the development of heat pumps and automotive air conditioning systems with alternative refrigerants, he most recently led teams as a manager at an automotive supplier.
